The day was an average summer day in Boulder, not too hot, perhaps high 70's. Ominous dark clouds loomed to the north, and slowly rolled in, turning a mid afternoon into a quick dusk. The rare northern storm often brings unforseen weather, and this was no exception. Vickers, standing on the roof next to our house, predicted the future. "It's gonna start hailing soon," he said. Literally ten seconds later the largest and scariest hail stone we had ever seen smashed down on a tin roof no farther than 5 yards away. Gulping down our disbelief with a moderate fear chaser, we ran for cover. What ensued was the most insane hail storm any of us have ever seen. The initial onslaught was so intense, I was not able to make it to the B side to grab my camera. When I felt safe enough to go outside, I grabbed my digi-cam, and pressed record. Below is the result. It's a pretty big file, with minimal effort put into production, but any weather aficionados might appreciate it. I would recommend the full size version through the "click here to download" link. Boulder Hail Storm, June 24, 2006
Up next, we have my trip home to NH. With the exception of my first trip home after moving away, this is my most anxious and anticipated trip ever. Things are starting to shape up and I am getting more excited by the minute. With the obvious wedding first and foremost, I have been trying to fill in the extra days with some awesome activities. Chances are if you are reading this, you have probably heard about the Rope Swing on July 3rd, and paintballing on July 5th. If you haven't heard, and wish to partake, GET IN TOUCH! I hope to see you all soon!
After a year plus of good times and foolish antics, E-Dubz finally got his job on. Leaving the Five Hundo for greener and more profitable pastures in SoCal, Dubz leaves a legacy of solid friendship and innumerable inebriated antics.
In accordance, I decided to mark this occasion with a photo montage. Using my laptop and newly improved, but stil horrendous, Windows Movie Maker, I came up with the following presentation.
Some things to note: these photos and video are presented in chronological order according to their timestamps. Thus, you get a full 90's to 2000 view of the Dubz. Thanks to anyone who contributed a random picture here or there. And thanks to Evan, for being THE MAN.
