New Poll! by Matt on March 31, 2006 @ 11:15 PM

I know I've been slacking, but it's not easy to come up with brand new slanderous poll results every week. But every once in a while I try to pull my weight around here. Thus, we have a new TODI poll down on the left hand side! Here are the final poll results from the previous poll:

After the exploits of HM and Hodes, who will run afoul of the law next?

Lynch, when he once again accidentally discharges a shotgun in his apartment, this time killing 17 babies.(16)
48%
Jaden, when upon not being able to deliver a pizza to the police station, promptly smahes the front window with a large rock.(7)
21%
KT Guth, after she dresses up as "La Chupacabra" and one of her Latino students suffers a severe heart attack.(6)
18%
Anyone with the last name of Venturini, probably for something absolutely horrific.(4)
12%

One day we will see a report about how much time employees waste on MySpace per year, and the hundreds of quadrillions in money lost. Some of us have already felt the harsh consequences, as witnessed below.

This is what you get for MySpacing your own name.

Wow. I am defintely not a music snob, but there is only one song in that guy's book that was mildly listenable, and it was the third one where he doesn't sing. To be honest however, these songs are from 1984. Who the fuck knows what things were like back then. I just hope he's working on some new track postings, for both our sakes.

St Pat's Bonus by Matt on March 28, 2006 @ 10:15 PM

Hello friends! Here are a few photos from St. Patty's Day that didn't make the other postings, like the one's on Mike's page. Well done sir, and we are all looking forward to the video.

Now for the pics...

Let's not mince words... Cara booting in the washing machine. The only thing that is missing from this photo is Mike trying to drag her outside. Although I thought you could just run the washer once after an incident like this and all would be fine, Jaden vehemently disagrees. Miss you Cara!
This is Evan well before he became "that guy" on that Friday night. I originally thought this was taken at our house, but then I realized that we dont have sushi chefs, rainbows, or industrial overhead cooking vents. Other than that, I was spot on.
At first glance, this would appear to be another nice group pic with a cameo by Evan's chronic bloody nose. Upon further inspection however, one can see that this is another nice group pic with a cameo by Evan's chronic bloody nose. With a bonus hidden tissue for extra points!
This guy sucked from the moment he tried to snake our table at the Sundowner. Which guy you ask? YEAH THAT GUY. Take a close look at the photo, and try to not lose it when you see him. F THAT GUY.

Sunday Morning's Earliest Link by Matt on March 26, 2006 @ 12:08 AM

While searching on-line for water balloon launchers, I came across FratToys.com. From neon signs under 40 bucks to packages of stink bombs, this website has pretty much everything you need to pretend you're still in the 8th grade. Incredible.

Nerd News 1.0 by John on March 23, 2006 @ 10:36 PM

For those that don't know me, which is most of you, my name is John (or J-Robe as I've been called here). Matt and I were talking and decided that I would try and write a weekly column for tuneoutdropin.com. This column would be mainly about new technology and my thoughts, insights and opinions regarding it. Nerd stuff basically. Now without further ado… ON WITH THE NERDY-NESS!

These are exciting times in Nerdtopia, as we have a new generation of gaming consoles in the process of launching. Rumor has it the new Nintendo unit (code-named "Revolution") will get its official name and launch date in the near future. Grape vines say that the possible name is the Nintendo GO and that the launch date might be as early as June.

With the Playstation 3 being delayed until November in Japan, does this mean that Sony won't capture the majority of the market in consoles for this generation? The saving grace of Sony is that they have the best hardware, which means the games will look better longer, as long as the tools the game creators use are easy to use. I could probably write about four full columns about the pros and cons of each console, and if I get enough demand for it, I might. Just let me know at sartandrake@gmail.com.

BUT ON WITH OTHER NERD NEWS!

In case you haven't heard, Dell is buying out Alienware computers. Alienware is probably the most powerful name brand computer you can buy, and their prices reflect this. They aren't cheap, but they are always on the top of technology; whether it be Intel or AMD processors. My fear is that Dell will force Alienware to sell ONLY Intel CPU's which would suck ass. The main reason is that right now, AMD processors run faster, cooler and use less power than Intel.

Alright that's all I got for now, if you have any specific areas of technology you'd like me to look into and report on, let me know. I'll try and have more for you next week.

HAPPY NERDING EVERYONE!

New Guest Column! by Matt on March 23, 2006 @ 9:21 PM

It is a great pleasure to welcome our first guest writer to tuneoutdropin.com! None other than my good friend J-Robe has agreed to man the helm on a new (possibly weekly) column on the latest and greatest advances in technology. Not a day goes by when I don't get a link regarding some new tech or gadget from J-Robe. So we agreed he should stop bothering only me and write his obsessions down for all to read. Coming up next: The first installment of Nerd News...

Ghetto Update by Matt on March 22, 2006 @ 10:34 PM

Less fluff and more stuff:

Mike's St. Patrick's Day Picture Show

This video is straight from the station. Sent in by one loyal reader who has a job in the neighborhood, this video starts off boring but ends pretty good.

Watch Your Step by Matt on March 13, 2006 @ 10:47 AM

I started last weekend at approximately 10 a.m. on Friday. The entire Powell Media Milwaukee team had descended onto Boulder, halting all work upon their arrival. What would result was a hilarious, fun-filled and tiring weekend with the entire BI team. On Friday we were fortunate enough to hitch a ride on Banjo Billy's Bus Tours, then catch a bite to eat with a side of entertainment at Dave and Buster's. Saturday held a journey to Breckenridge, all 13 of us in a 14 person van, to go snowmobiling in the high country. These guys hooked it up for us, and it was nothing short of fucking awesome. We finished with dinner outside Denver on Saturday evening, most of us completely delirious with laughter after spending five plus hours together in the packed van. Sunday saw us catching a quick breakfast at the hotel and bidding farewell to our Wisconsin counterparts, each unknown's name now attached to a tangible and enjoyable face.

In the middle of all this, we had the pleasure to welcome Mr. Mike Lianza to Boulder late Saturday night. A welcome addition to our growing crew of St. Patrick's day revelers, ML was witness to a freak accident while riding an escalator at DIA. While he was riding down the escalator to the terminal shuttle train with his iPod on drone-out, he looked up to see everyone staring at him. Realizing that something was awry, ML looked behind him to see a 20's age guy in a lump on the floor. From the early accounts, this was an accident that may or may not have involved alcohol. Too Hot To Handle, To Cold To Hold by Matt on March 8, 2006 @ 1:47 AM

First things first... the long overdue answer key to the IQ test in the last post. Much thanks to J-Robe for the screen captures.

Next up have a multitude of pics from Julian's birthday celebration (aka warm-up for Friday the 17th party). Also, some pics from random cameras (Cara and Alex). Thanks to all those who came out... we hope to see you and more at the 3rd Annual Hapgood St. Patrick's Day party

Some more links to come when I get up ;)

Rent Is Due Bitches by Matt on March 1, 2006 @ 11:47 PM

Oooohhh... I got some links for ya. Let's start off with the best sports story I've ever heard about. If you haven't seen all the clips and the news coverage, then check it out below. EbaumsWorld has the goods:

J-Mac Gets His

I found this entertaining just because of the infinite possibilities to insult your friends with the help of one Al Einstein. Make sure to remember your eraser:

The New Rules Of Science!

Next, from the same cats who presented that insanely hard movie quiz a bit back, I bring you the insanely hard abstract IQ test. I think me Dittmer and J-Robe got up to 23 correct, in a memorable three-way that didn't end in awkwardness. Let me know if you get 'em all.

If you get 19 + of these, you are a "genius"

And last but not least, check out this underground marijuana farm that the police found. It's almost disturbing how professional this was.
