I'm not sure how to describe this without ranting for three plus paragraphs (like the last post). Just watch the videos.
My love affair with basketball first came to light in the early 1990's. A well timed growth spurt and a knack for understanding the game made my basketball obsession even more potent. I idolized the superstars of my time. Jordan, Barkley, and a young Shaquille O'Neal absolutely ruled my trading card collection. But none were more explosive, especially near the rim, than "The Reignman" Shawn Kemp.
Stay with me here, it's gonna take a second... One of the greatest things about YouTube (or Gootube as the kids call it) is the ability to rediscover a wealth of information on something you thought was totally forgotten. Like the bounty of "You Can't Do That On Television" episodes I watched the other day; my mouse acting as the control to a a binary time machine. I guess that's the beauty of the Internet. Connect hundreds of millions of people and you are bound to find someone who knows what you are talking about. Be it something from your childhood or something that you have a cursory interest in, you can find someone who knows what's up within a few clicks.
Back on topic: Although I have not forgotten Shawn Kemp, the video clip below brought back a slew of memories. From forgotten dunks, to old school uniforms and a memory of the NBA on NBC theme song (the one redeeming thing John Tesh has ever done), this clip took me way back. Enjoy!
