Happy Halloween punks! It's that time of year again in the people's republic, and this year was no exception to the rule. Drunken costumed mobs roamed and ruled the streets, and the Boulder PD clubbed just enough idiots to keep the rest in line.
It wouldn't be a classic Tune Out Halloween without some wacky Boulder pics, and as usual I got the goods. Additional photo credits go to Alex and his camera.
Let me just preface this by saying that I loathe and despise most forwarded e-mails. Usually they insist you forward the thing to "AT LEAST 10 FRIENDS" so that you can "HAVE GOOD LUCK" or "GO TO HEAVEN" or so that "BILL GATES WILL GIVE YOU $200 DOLLARS!!". They all suck.
That being said, yesterday I received what very well may be the first decent forwarded e-mail ever. (Truth be told, Dittmer sent a nice one last week). I sent out an e-mail to some of you about it, but for those who are not on my e-mail list, read on.
Now here's something that made me laugh today. Go to www.google.com and type in the word 'failure' - but instead of hitting the "Google Search" button, click on the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button instead and see where it takes you.
I ran across this link in the fark forums and thought it was quite intriguing. It's basically an art piece that challenges the way we look at video watching. I could try and explain more, but quite frankly, I don't understand it all.
WARNING: This video is fairly large (8-40 MB depending on your settings), and it might only interest the nerds out there. That being said, feast on
Simplify things, and your life will get easier. Case in point: another update!
As some of you know, Colin and Lori have been on a nation-wide road trip since early September. We were fortunate enough to have them stop by the great state of Colorado for one whole week, and what a week it was. With free shows by Recycled Percussion as well as the Pharcyde, a camper trip to the H-G, and zips 'o green, it was good times for all. In addition to all this, C&L were nice enough to share all of their photos with me, and I present some of my favorites. These pics span their trip from NH across the northern states, down the cali coast, and into CO. All pictures will open in a blank window (for the children). Enjoy!

Oh shit! Here we go with the crazy updates. Just a quick little link for you guys. I ran across this while surfing everyone's favorite, EBaum's World. It is a 3 or 4 minute clip of OCD in action. For those of you who skipped every single high school psych class, OCD is short for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and the mailman in the video has it pretty bad. While watching, it's hard to figure out whether to be sad, amused, or just simply astounded. This guy makes Nomar's foolish routines look like child's play.
Welcome to the new and allegedly improved TODI. This simplification is brought to you by my need to eliminate Photoshop from my update process, something that has been hindering my prolificness from day one. Since I have been MIA for an atrociously long time, I'll do a quick recap:
Did You Know?
Now that we have that cleared up, I'll leave you with something I wrote back on September 26. I had it all set to go but just ran out of time. Check it out:
Many changes in many days: graduation come and gone, family coming in, slack job on the way out. The newly extended Boulder family has seen my mother land and leave, playing the sparkle to my shine. Elliot continues to work on her english, with remarkable improvement each hour. Not to get a mean case of moist eye on you, but there is nothing that compares to watching her young horizon rapidly broaden, her vocabulary spin upward into the sky, and the subtle facial expressions that cross her face, making her look like a seasoned adult.
Brett is kicking it in the NJ, Marc J is planning a relocation to the NE area (much love), Colin and Lori are mid-adventure somewhere on the west coast, and as far as I know, KT Guth is still hostiling it in San Francisco.
It's strange how quickly one's scope can change. In the flash of a month you can become a role-model, teacher, new employee, and graduate. I feel I have become more responsible in the last few weeks than I have ever been. And I wouldn't trade it for the world. How about some links?!
If you don't know Banksy, then you should learn. I could rant all day, but if you are down with spray paint paired with scathing yet subtle social commentary, then you should
Definitely check out Banksy.
Remember the days of Prodigy internet service and Carmen Sandiego? If not then check out the Way Back Machine. The Way Back Machine might be your best friend. Browse through 40 billion web pages archived from 1996 to a few months ago. Yeah, for real.

So that's it for now. I have more shiz to post than I have time for, but I am hoping this new format will encourage maaaaad updates. I'll see you soon. PS: I know many of the links don't work. Deal with it.
